Homeschool Programs
Winter Homeschool programs are now open for registration. Fall registration is now closed.
Heartwood is now a nine month program spanning three seasons. Heartwood 2025-2026 begins in the Fall.
We now offer Homeschool programming at three Asheville area locations.
Fall Blacksmithing Saturdays
Saturday Blacksmithing Fall 2025 season is now underway and registration is closed.
This program takes place at Haw Creek Commons. We’re offering a four week series.
Summer Camps
2025 Summer Camps season is now completed.
2025 featured a new southside location at Hutch Mountain in Fletcher, NC. We’ve added a bunch of new camps including Pottery, Theater, Wild Hunters and more.
Our 2026 Summer Camps registration will launch in early 2026.
What is Forest Floor?
Forest Floor is a place where kids:
- Are free to be kids; to play, laugh, shout, and run wild the way we did when we were kids.
- Can find others who love nature as much as they do and find support and friendship in peers.
- Can spend time with adults who really care about their developmental journey and want to hear their stories.
- Can explore who they really are and be celebrated for being themselves.
Forest Floor provides high quality Nature-Connection Mentoring programs with lasting benefits for health, concentration, and emotional well-being.
We get your kids outdoors to think, connect, learn, make, and move.
And most importantly, to have fun!
We use a proven mentoring system and have small classes with mentor-camper ratios of just 1 to 7. Your kids will get more than just outdoor activity, they will be subtly coached and encouraged to reach their greatest potential.

The Benefits of Nature-Connection Mentoring

Our core curriculum is based on the patterns and cycles of the natural world. The eight-directional model we use accounts for the innate rhythms of individuals and their environment, providing a seemingly effortless but remarkably effective trajectory for learning.
